Recently, there was a delightful unveiling ceremony of a brand new mosaic. The school Headteacher writes:
“This afternoon, the school council had the honour of leading the grand unveiling of our new mosaic.
We were delighted to welcome back artist Monica Shanta who worked with the children during arts week to create the piece and we were also joined by Roger and Annie Kirk from The Helen Foundation whose generous support - along with our wonderful PTFA - made this project possible.
The finished mosaic is a beautiful addition to the school, and we’re thrilled with the result. It’s a symbol of creativity and community that will last for many years to come.”

THF says:
“The mosaic is just lovely, everyone! We at The Helen Foundation hope that lots of parents have now seen it. Maybe recent weather wasn’t the best for mosaic hunting, though the otter (Helen’s favourite creature in all the world) will have loved all that wet stuff! We are totally thrilled to have been able to help fund the workshops for the youngsters on this project, and the specialist mosaic artist Monica Shanta to finish off the design and to grout it so wonderfully well….Check out how it changes according to the light and to the angle viewed. It is truly magic, Broadhempston Primary School, and you created that magic!”
