20TH ANNIVERSARY
As we continue to celebrate 20 years of THF’s work, we dip in to our newsletter archives for highlights of previous THF activities.
10 years ago, in November 2016, we reported on the very first Powderham Live! Following a hugely successful hosting of BBC Radio 1s Big Weekend which headlined Coldplay, the Countess of Devon invited 30 talented young musicians from both Dawlish Community College and Teignmouth Community School to perform in the iconic James Wyatt Music Room, which was transformed for the occasion into a nightclub-like venue with comfy sofas, big cushions on the floor, candle-light and a superb sound system. This led to five+ years of first-rate support for aspiring young musicians, partnered by THF.

Featured in the same November 2016 newsletter was a THF fund-raising performance by Paul Mayhew Archer, writer of The Thin Blue Line and co-writer of The Vicar of Dibley, and a performance of Words for Voices at Powderham Castle. Also reported were successes from young people receiving bursaries from THF.
That year, 2016, THF supported over 3,000 young people’s experiences in the arts - the most ever in a single year.
