MORETONHAMPSTEAD SCHOOL: COLLAGRAPH PRINTING WITH SIMON RIPLEY OF DOUBLE ELEPHANT, EXETER

In this session, each pupil used a Dartmoor Tor photo (provided by Simon) as the source from which they created a collagraph print of the Tor with the name of the Tor included. The pupils worked  up to A4 and included other Dartmoor elements in the image. They printed several copies to create a banner on very strong wallpaper lining paper. Simon worked on this after the workshop, varnished the banner and returned it to the school shortly after the workshop took place.

The school wrote:

“Beckaford have had a wonderful afternoon working with print artist Simon from Double Elephant Print Workshop funded by The Helen Foundation. All of us at Moretonhampstead were devastated to hear about Daisi Arts closing at the end of March. We have benefited from so many arts workshops and it will be a huge loss to no longer be able to access opportunities like this.  The children’s prints are part of a banner with scenes from Dartmoor which are proudly on display in the school.”
