It’s going to be a busy term! There are two separate multi-school projects supported by The Helen Foundation running in Teignbridge. The first project involves four schools and is supported by Action on Climate in Teignbridge. This involves the musical company Sonopera working with the four schools in a project entitled “Young voices for a sustainable future”. This project offers 12/13 years and 8/9 year-olds an opportunity to attend three workshops where they will be coached and motivated to express their feelings about climate change through music, song, poetry. The workshops will be showcased in two performances at Coombeshead College.

The second project involves ten Devon County schools and two artists: Jess Carvill a felting specialist; and Iola who sculpts in 2-D and 3-D. Pupils will learn new skills and techniques in relation to each artform. The broad aims of the projects are for young people to learn to: devise and explore around a theme; feel a sense of pride and opportunity in their locality; and contribute to a collaborative project by coming together in an exhibition and performance highlighting and celebrating the Primary Partnership Group of all 10 schools.

Exciting times ahead!
