IT’S THE HELEN FOUNDATION’S 20TH BIRTHDAY!

Can you believe it? It was 20 years ago in January 2006 that THF was formally launched. Following Helen’s tragic death on Boxing Day 2005 after a road accident, her family and friends decided they wanted to keep alive that exceptional energy, creativity and love of the arts that was so much part of Helen. So we established a charity to encourage and support the arts in state-funded school in Teignbridge - the part of Devon where Helen grew up and she so much loved. As she sometimes said, “You can take a girl out of Devon but you can’t take Devon out of a girl!”
The result of the decision turned into (the first!) 20 years of The Helen Foundation, where every year over 1000 young people experience high quality, exciting and memorable arts workshops in their schools, and letting young people “dare to dream”! That makes it over 20,000 youngsters benefitting - so far - from THF outreach.
We would love this work to continue. Can you help us to achieve this during our special commemoration year? We aim to build a substantial fund that effectively invested, will ensure that Helen’s legacy provides opportunities and experiences in the arts for Teignbridge young people long into the future.

Can you come up with a contribution - large or small - that encompasses the numbers 20:200:2000 (or any variations of 2s and 0s..) whatever you can manage! Maybe set yourself your own creative challenge and seek sponsorship. Any contributions of any size would be very gratefully received and used to benefit young people in Teignbridge with terrific arts experiences and new opportunities to meet their own ambitions in the arts.
Here’s the link to the THF charity challenge on JustGiving, and there's also a link on that page where you can set up your own JustGiving page in support of The Helen Foundation 20for20 campaign. But if you prefer, you could set up your own JustGiving page, or GoFundMe page, and let us know what you are doing. Or if you wish, you can send a contribution directly to the THF bank account tagged with 20for20 and your name (if you wish). Click HERE. If you are a UK tax-payer, can we urge you to sign the GiftAid declaration that adds 25% extra to your donation at no extra cost to yourself!
We’ll keep everyone up to date as the campaign rolls forward, through our monthly newsletters and postings on our Facebook page.
LET’S DO THIS TOGETHER! AND GOOD LUCK!
