CHRISTOW PRIMARY SCHOOL – LILA GARNER
The Helen Foundation Awards are presented by each school annually to the young person whom the school judges to have shown “best endeavour in the arts” throughout the school year.

The school’s citation reads:
“Lila was chosen for the award because of her skill and imagination in all aspects of Art. She has shown excellent attention to detail and skill in the recent class project based on collage and poster making.”
SO WELL DESERVED, LILA!
KINGSKERSWELL THFA WINNER – FREDDIE BK

Kingskerswell's citation reads:
“In recognition of her outstanding dedication to the performing arts, Freddie BK has been awarded The Helen Foundation Award 2025. Freddie has consistently demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment across multiple disciplines, including singing, dancing, and theatrical performance. Her enthusiasm and creativity have not only enriched her own artistic journey but have also inspired and uplifted those around her.
Freddie is a true team player, always ready to support her peers, encourage collaboration, and contribute to the vibrant cultural life of the school. Her passion for the arts, combined with her generosity of spirit and unwavering work ethic, make her a deserving recipient of this prestigious award. She embodies the values of The Helen Foundation—creativity, community, and compassion—and we are proud to celebrate her achievements.”
REALLY WELL-DESERVED, FREDDIE!
AND FINALLY, A SINCERE APOLOGY…
In October’s newsletter we wrongly attributed the citations and schools presenting The Helen Foundation Award.
This is the correct photo and citation for Romanie at Glendinning Academy:

“In music and the performing arts, this student stands out. Every time she sings, people just stop and stare, because everyone knows they are witnessing something truly special.
Over the past few years, they have played a vital role in the growth and success of music and performances across our school, we would not be where we are today without them.
On a personal note, I’m incredibly grateful to her. As a teacher, you really depend on those passionate and reliable students to lead by example - to inspire others, to show what’s possible, and to help create something bigger than any one individual. She’s has been exactly that. This year alone, she helped us achieve something we’d never done before: our very first school musical. At the very heart of it was this student, leading with courage, energy and brilliance. It has been an absolute privilege to watch her grow in confidence, light up the stage and bring so much joy to those around her. I only hope she believes in herself as much as we believe in her."
REALLY WELL DONE ROMANIE!
