Recently, the Benedetti Foundationsent THF a report of their work in Devon in December last year.
“The Benedetti Foundation would like to thank The Helen Foundation for its generous grant of £1,000 for our Music Education Workshops in Teignbridge. It was a real joy to bring our workshops to this area of the UK for sessions full of creativity, rhythm, improvisation, singing and learning by ear."
"We delivered three music workshops to 520 children from three primary schools in Teignbridge: Abbotskerswell, Highweek and Decoy. The sessions were presented by workshop leader Lucy Drever and percussionist Calum Huggan, and primary school teachers took part alongside the children.
"Working closely with Devon and Torbay Music Education Hub, they identified the schools we visited as the ones who would benefit most from our workshops. These high energy, engaging and interactive sessions for KS1 or KS2 pupils covered areas of music education including singing, lyric-writing, rhythm, composition, active listening, storytelling and body percussion."
Trustees visited the workshops and were really impressed with the quality of the work of the Benedetti Foundation leaders and the positive response of the young people. Brilliant workshops! Well done to everyone involved.
