We would love it if you - and/or your partner, family and friends - could join us, The Helen Foundation, for we shall be entering a team of runners in the asics British 10k London Run for the fifth and final time. Coincidentally, the event itself is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, which should make it a particularly special occasion.
The British 10k London Run has been a really successful fundraising event for the Foundation over the past 4 years, since the Foundation was formed. This has been down to the fantastic response, support, commitment and dedication we have received, and continue to receive, from our supporters who knew and loved Helen personally plus those who know of her and of our charity.
This huge charity fun run takes place each year in central London on closed roads and gives its 30,000 runners the chance to run through historic parts of London: Hyde Park Corner; Picadilly Circus; Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column; The Victoria Embankment (past Somerset House); Temple; Blackfriars (just about enough time to take in views of St Pauls); back down the Embankment (views across Thames of Tate Modern and The London Eye); Waterloo Bridge; Westminster; Houses of Parliament; and finishing on Whitehall (right next to Buckingham Palace).
As it's the last time we shall be organizing this particular fund-raising event, we want as many people to join us as possible. If you would like to be involved in the fun run, it's easy to sign up and we are sure you will have a brilliant time. As always, the day is a great opportunity for our supporters to get fit and meet up for an enjoyable get-together.

| Memories of the British 10k London Run from yesteryear! |
Put the date in your diary: Sunday 11th July 2010, 9.35am
The date is Sunday 11th July 2010 and it kicks off at 9.35am. If you are keen (you know you are!) then it's so easy to get involved:
Step 1: Register on-line at www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk, by clicking on the "Click Here To Enter" link, following the on-screen instructions and then choosing the "Gold Guaranteed Entry" option. It costs £29.50 to enter.
Step 2: Set up a personal justgiving fundraising page at: www.justgiving.com. Using the "Find a charity" box, search for and select 'the helen foundation'. Then click on the "Make your page" link, then choose "An organised event". If you put in "British 10k London Run" or "2010 British 10k London Run" you will find many entries. Select any one of the top six and then start designing and making your page!
Step 3: Please then email our Treasurer and team organiser, Ben Galloway, to confirm you have signed up. If you need a limited edition The Helen Foundation t-shirt for the run itself then please let Ben know and state what size you will require.
Step 4: Get running and in training for the big day!
Step 5: Give details of your justgiving fundraising page to as many of your family, friends and workmates as possible with a view to raising as much money as possible for the Foundation! And then don't be afraid to keep pestering them for a donation if you can see they haven't yet donated!
Afterwards we usually gather at the Tattershall Castle – a floating pub on the Victoria embankment for a joint celebration – and that feels even better…
We have had such a lot of fun these past four years and 2010 promises to be even better. Have a look at our website, go to the "gallery" section and check out the photos from the British 10K London Run events from 2006 to 2009 to get a flavour of what it is like.
