Ben Galloway

Ben was Helen's much loved boyfriend. He is an insurance underwriter and currently works for Aspen Insurance in London. Ben is the Foundation's treasurer, keeping the accounts and providing invaluable advice and direction to the Foundation's finances. For the third year running, Ben is organising the THF contingent in The Asics British 10k London Run in July. Over the past 2 years he has helped raised over £40,000 from these events alone, attracting 130 runners for the Foundation in the process!

Alex Kirk

Helen’s brother who is a lawyer and, having worked for leading international law firms Bond Pearce and Eversheds since qualifying, now works "in-house" for a leading wind energy company called Renewable Energy Systems Ltd based just outside in London. Alex manages the website for the foundation, and works closely on links with Just Giving and the Charity Commission.

Annie Kirk

Annie, Helen's mother, was a teacher before becoming full-time mum to the three Kirk children. She worked in Teignmouth as the Librarian at the Community College where Helen and her brothers - and Muse! - were all students. Annie retired from full-time work after 19 years in post, but continues working as an examiner for AQA/UCLES for English Language (Overseas). She participates in art and literacy work at Shaldon Primary School as a member of the support staff.

Roger Kirk

Helen’s father who, until his recent semi-retirement at the end of the summer term, was Principal of Dawlish Community College. He is presently working on a series of education-related ventures and continues to serve as chair of Devon Association of Secondary Heads (DASH). Roger is the current chairman of the Foundation.

Tom Kirk

Helen’s brother is an artistic designer and website manager, and is currently working for MUSE as their media manager, employed by Muse's management company in London. Tom is with the band whenever they tour, creating and directing the video effects and presentation that accompany the on-stage act. Footage from Tom is used in the special edition DVDs that accompany Muse albums on occasion. His input into the Foundation is notable for his originality and creativity.

Leon Winston

A close friend of the Kirk family and a prominent and respected figure within the local arts scene. Leon is also a trustee of the Devon Arts In Schools Initiative and a Governor of Shaldon Primary School, and has a background in education and drama. A one-time drama adviser, then head of performing arts in a college of further and higher education and lately deputy principal of the college. Leon was part of the original team to establish training of Drama Therapists and continues to lecture on Drama Therapy. He spent many years working within drama and theatre as director, adjudicator and lecturer, including directing various Playgoer’s Society productions at Dartington Hall. His interest lies in realising the potential of the performing arts within both primary and secondary education.
